Godolphin Buys Birchwood

Godolphin has bought unbeaten 2-year-old colt Birchwood (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) from David Armstrong. The bay, who broke his maiden on debut at Doncaster May 2 before taking a Newbury conditions race two weeks later, will remain in training with Richard Fahey and will have summer stakes targets. 

John Ferguson, Bloodstock Advisor to Sheikh Mohammed, said, “Birchwood is an unbeaten winner of two races, including a valuable conditions race at Newbury. He could run in a listed race in Ireland next week and [is] possible [for a] tilt at the G2 Superlative S. at the July Meeting in Newmarket.”
