Goffs London Sale Catalogue Out
A total of 24 horses will be offered during the horses-in-training portion of the Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO, held at The Orangery at Kensington Palace June 15. This brings the total lots on offer up to 44, as there are also 20 2-year-olds during the breeze-up section that was announced last week.
Anchoring the horses-in-training selections is Group 3 winner Majestic Queen (Ire) (Kheleyf) (lot 37), consigned by Conyngham Lodge Stables. The 5-year-old was most recently an eye-catching third at The Curragh in the G2 Greenlands S. May 23.
Fellow Group 3 winner Master Apprentice (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) (lot 38), trained by Andrew Balding, will also attract deserved attention, as he took the G3 bet365 Classic Trial S. last time Apr. 24. One of the horses with Royal Ascot aspirations, lot 41, the GSW Sir Maximilian (Ire) (Royal Applause {GB}) is being pointed to the G1 King’s Stand S. The next lot of note amongst these choice entries is the French Group 2 winner Smoking Sun (Smart Strike) (lot 42), who earned a placing at the highest level when third in the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup during his travels.
Other horses with Royal Ascot goals include the G2 Norfolk S.-pointed colts Zebstar (Ire) (Zebedee {GB}) (lot 23), a winner at Newmarket and lot 27 and Ard San Aer (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}), who landed a maiden at Leopardstown May 10. The fairer sex is represented by Vallance Road (GB) (Kheleyf) (lot 44) and Pink Angel (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) (lot 39) among others.
Henry Beeby, Chief Executive of Goffs commented, “Our second Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO takes up where we left off last year, with a quality catalogue full of Royal Ascot potential. This is a sale that offers buyers something quite unique as they can literally go from sales ring to Royal Ascot within 24 hours.”
Once again though an agreement with the BHA, Weatherbys and Goffs, horses who sell during the Goffs London Sale may run in the name and silks of the new connections, as long as they are registered with the BHA or another racing jurisdiction.
