Connections of Integral (GB) (Dalakhani {Ire}) are weighing up the prospect of starting her off in the G1 Al Shaqab Lockinge S. at Newbury next month. The Group 1 May 16 is under consideration as a potential starting point for the 5-year-old, winner of both the G1 QIPCO Falmouth S. and the G1 Sun Chariot S. last season.

Chris Richardson, managing director of owners Cheveley Park Stud commented, “Integral has wintered well, but Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are yet to decide where she will she will reappear, although the Lockinge is definitely being considered. After that it could be to Royal Ascot.”

Although twice a winner at the highest level last season, the Sir Michael Stoute-trained mare signed off on a losing note after finishing down the field in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II S. at Ascot.

Richardson added, “On her final run at Ascot I don’t think she was in the best position out the back as she was slipping all over the place. Although she goes on any ground, that [heavy] was a step too far. Ryan Moore looked after her as we didn’t want her getting injured.”
