Looks Like the Cat is Hong Kong Bound
Talented Australian 3-year-old Looks Like The Cat (Aus) (Husson {Arg}) is headed to Hong Kong after the Group 1-placed gelding was purchased by Hong Kong interests for an undisclosed amount Tuesday according to Racing and Sports. The Tony Gollan trainee has accumulated five top-three efforts from six starts exclusively in group company beginning with a runner-up finish to Brazen Beau (Aus) (I Am Invincible {Aus}) on debut in the G2 Bollinger Champagne Classic S. at Doomben this May. Third in the G2 B.R.C. Sires Produce S. off only two weeks rest, the flashy chestnut filled the same position in the wake of Almalad (Aus) (Al Maher {Aus}) when appearing in the G1 J.J. Atkins S. June 7. Given a brief freshening, Looks Like The Cat was twice second to Rich Enuff (Aus) (Written Tycoon {Aus}) first in the G2 Danehill S. at Flemington Sept. 13 and the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude S. Sept. 28 prior to a troubled 11th in the G1 Caulfield Guineas last time Oct. 11. Multiple offers from Hong Kong were refused earlier in the sophomore’s career, but according to Gollan, this most recent off was too good for the owners to pass up.
