Moore Named First-Call Rider for Coolmore

Ryan Moore will be the first-call rider for the Ballydoyle/Coolmore operation in 2015, trainer Aidan O’Brien confirmed late Thursday.
“Ryan will be riding our main horses this year and Joseph [O’Brien] will be riding other horses when the weights allow him to,” O’Brien, speaking at Tipperary, told Racing Post. “Seamie Heffernan and Colm O’Donoghue will also be involved as in the past. I’d imagine that if he wants to, Joseph will continue to ride over hurdles.”
Moore, who has the call on the Coolmore-owned and Chris Waller trained G1 Cox Plate hero Adelaide (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Longines Queen Elizabeth S. at Randwick Saturday, will depart Australia following his rides and is scheduled to ride Sunday at Leopardstown. Among his mounts is John F Kennedy (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G3 Ballysax S.
Crowned the ‘world’s best jockey’ in 2014, Moore has had Group 1 success in years past for Coolmore, having ridden Ruler of the World (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) to a victory in the 2013 Investec Derby and Homecoming Queen (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) in the 2012 G1 English 1000 Guineas.
