Zayat Stable's Mr. Z (Malibu Moon) worked a half-mile in :49.20 Wednesday in preparation for a start in Monday's GIII Southwest S. The D. Wayne Lukas trainee was third last out in the Smarty Jones S. after bearing out badly in the lane. Lukas said he has been “fooling with some different bridles” to fix the problem. “That's about as good as I can get him,” Lukas said. “It was a pretty work, really pretty–without incident, straight as a string. Everything's good.”
