Muhaarar To Work Up To Champs Day

Top sophomore sprinter Muhaarar (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), last seen taking the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest over subsequent G1 Prix Jacques le Marois heroine Esoterique (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) at Deauville Aug. 9, will work up to the G1 Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot Oct. 17 and will have a racecourse gallop in the coming weeks, according to trainer Charlie Hills.

“Muhaarar is perfectly well and we are now just waiting for Ascot,” said Hills of the Sheikh Hamdan colorbearer. “It is a long wait between now and then and I would like to give him a racecourse gallop within the next three weeks.”

Muhaarar has proven a revelation since dropping back to sprints after finishing eighth in the G1 2000 Guineas in May. He is since unbeaten, having taken the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, and the G1 Darley July Cup and Maurice de Gheest against elders.
