Night Of Thunder To Kildangan
Dual Group 1-winning miler Night Of Thunder (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) will stand his initial season at Darley’s Kildangan Stud in Ireland next year. Night Of Thunder bested subsequent Classic winners Kingman (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and Australia (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) to win last year’s G1 2000 Guineas, with the likes of Toormore (Ire) (Arakan {Ire}), Kingston Hill (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) and The Grey Gatsby (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) further down the field. He earned a second win at the highest level for trainer Richard Hannon when adding this year’s G1 Lockinge S., and was retired after finishing sixth in the G1 Sussex S. July 29.
Gerry Duffy, General Manager of Kildangan, said, “We’re delighted to be standing Night Of Thunder at Kildangan in 2016. He was an extremely talented racehorse, beating eight individual Group 1 winners when winning the Guineas and he showed that tough grit and determination that Dubawis have when winning this year’s Lockinge. I have no doubt he will be very popular amongst Irish breeders.”
A fee will be announced at a later date.
