Postponed To Sit Out Arc

This year’s G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S. winner Postponed (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) will not run in the Oct. 4 G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The news was revealed by trainer Roger Varian, who will next week take over the training of the horse after his owner, Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, pulled all his horses, including Postponed, from trainer Luca Cumani last week. On Sept. 13, Cumani had saddled Postponed to win the G2 Prix Foy at Longchamp.
“The [Sheikh Obaid] horses are due to arrive next week and I can confirm Postponed will not run in the Arc,” said Varian. “I can’t really comment any further than that at this stage. The horses have not even joined us yet, so I’m not going to start making plans for them.”
The 4-year-old Postponed holds an entry in the G1 Champion S. on British Champions Day at Ascot Oct. 17.
