Return French Date For Donjuan
Middleham Park Racing’s Donjuan Triumphant (Ire) (Dream Ahead), the winner of his last three outings including the G2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte Oct. 16, is set to return to France for the G1 Criterium International at Saint-Cloud Nov. 1. The 2-year-old is trained in Britain by Richard Fahey.
“All being well, he’ll go back to France and he should take all the beating,” said Middleham Park’s Nick Bradley. “Unless it’s really bottomless I can’t see an extra furlong proving a problem.”
Donjuan Triumphant was backing up in the Maisons-Laffitte just a week after winning York’s Listed Rockingham S.
“We thought he’d win the listed race at York but we didn’t really know what we were taking on in France,” Bradley noted. “I can’t see anything that was behind last week turning the tables and there’s no Air Force Blue or Shalaa to worry about. If he’s at his best he should win.”
