He missed the break and was baulked, but held his position in behind the leaders before being asked to close at halfway. Coaxed to the front by Kieren Fallon passing the eighth peg, he needed one slap with the whip to assert and beat Alexander Alliance (Ire) (Danehill) by a comfortable length.
