Atlantic Voyage, a full-sister to the swift Stormello, GISW, $700,100, wound up RNA'ing for $235,000 when offered at KEESEP a year ago. She had a host of sharp morning drills, but they were only good enough to make her the 4-1 second choice to Shadwell's Shaarat (Distorted Humor), a second-time starter that was bet down to 3-5. Atlantic Voyage came away running from her rail post and quickly opened up daylight while speeding through splits of :22.59 and :45.54. Rider Rajiv Maragh threw a cross at her in the stretch and the chestnut kept on going, scoring by five lengths under a hand ride. Truffles (Forestry) won the three-way photo for second, while Shaarat faltered to finish sixth. The winner was bred by Al Eisman and Bill Currin, who also bred and campaigned Stormello during a career that saw the blaze-faced chestnut capture the GI Hollywood Futurity and GII Norfolk S. in 2006. Currin also trained Stormello. Wilshewed produced a Stormy Atlantic colt in 2009, but was barren to Bernardini for 2010. She was bred back to Bernardini this spring. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $27,000.
