Boys At Tosconova, a $25,000 KEENOV weanling, was purchased as a yearling by trainer Bob Hess Jr. for $35,000 at KEESEP. The seal brown colt was auspiciously spotted for his career opener in the GIII Kentucky Juvenile S. at Churchill Apr. 30, but gave a good account of himself on that Oaks undercard event (video), going five wide on the turn before rallying for second to Lou Brissie (Limehouse). Purchased privately afterwards by the Siegels' Jay Em Ess Stable, he had been training at Monmouth since mid-May, and blew out three-eighths in :37 (4/11) over this track Wednesday. The 2-5 choice came away in stride, but soon showed he meant business by the time they were into the turn. Boys At Tosconova turned for home with an unassailable advantage, clocked a half in :44.38, and opened up under a motionless Ramon Dominguez to graduate by 12 lengths. Police Chatter (Tale of the Cat) took second over Settle for Medal (Medallist). The winner is the second foal from his dam, a daughter of MGSW Valid Bonnet. He has a yearling half-brother by Tiznow, as well as a Bluegrass Cat half-sister foaled Mar. 14. Lifetime Record: GSP, 2-1-1-0, $52,060.
