Coronet was caught dozing at the break, losing significant ground, but an unexacting pace allowed her to recover swiftly from a slumbering start and latch onto the tail of the bunch in this unveiling. The crowd’s 11-10 choice inched closer once into the straight and was angled to the outer for her bid by Frankie Dettori soon after passing the three-furlong marker. Stirred into action at the quarter-mile marker and quickening impressively to seize control approaching the final eighth, she kept on strongly in the closing stages to comfortably hold the late rally of Alwaysandforever (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) by more than the official winning margin of a half-length would imply. Coronet is out of Listed Lord Weinstock Memorial S. victress Approach (GB) (Darshaan {GB}) and is thus a half-sister to G1 Irish Derby and G1 St Leger runner-up and GSW Irish highweight Midas Touch (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), who also hit the board in the G1 Underwood S., and G3 Ballyroan S. placegetter Streetcar to Stars (GB) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). The homebred grey is also half to the yearling colt Photographer (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) and a filly foal by Australia (GB). Her second dam is G2 Nassau S. and G2 Sun Chariot S. winner and G1 Coronation S. runner-up Last Second (Ire) (Alzao), who also produced G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains and GI Shadwell Turf S.-winning sire Aussie Rules (Danehill), and is the granddam of G1 St Leger third Michelangelo (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), from the immediate family of Group 1 scorers Allegretto (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), Alborada (GB) (Alzao), Albanova (GB) (Alzao), Yesterday (Ire) (Sadler’s Wells) and Quarter Moon (Ire) (Sadler’s Wells). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $6,885.
