Devil Made Me Do It (Daredevil–Bible, by U S Ranger) romped home the easiest of debut winners in the opening race at Santa Anita Saturday to become the newest 'TDN Rising Star.' Sent off the 3-2 favorite, the dark bay colt was away alertly and quickly assumed command, setting fractions of :22.42 and :45.22 while under a snug hold. He extended his advantage nearing the stretch and sailed clear down the lane under a motionless Mario Gutierrez to score by 9 1/2 lengths and became the 12th winner for his freshman sire (by More Than Ready). Devil Made Me Do It, a $43,000 KEENOV weanling, was purchased by Ciaran Dunne and Paul Reddam's Red Wings pinhooking partnership for $72,000 as a FTKJUL yearling and was bought back for $245,000 after working a quarter in :20 3/5 at this year's OBS June sale. He is the first foal out of Bible. In foal to Super Saver, that mare sold to WinStar Farm for $25,000 at the 2017 Keeneland November sale. Her Super Saver yearling filly sold for $35,000 at this year's Keeneland September sale. She produced a filly by Outwork this year and was bred back to Carpe Diem. Devil Made Me Doit's third dam is Multiply, who produced Grade I winner Corinthian. Click for the Equibase.com chart or Equineline.com catalogue-style pedigree. VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
