Eden's Moon ran almost too good to lose her Dec. 18 bow over the Hollywood Cushion Track, settling for a big-figure second at 2-5. There were no such issues yesterday. The Florida-bred miss breezed an eighth of a mile in :10.2 ahead of the Fasig-Tipton February Sale at Palm Meadows, but the pieces hadn't quite fallen into place and she was bought back on a bid of $110,000. Given a few months to mature, the bay got another chance to leave her mark at the sales, when she drilled a quarter mile in the bullet :21 2/5 and was hammered down for $390,000 at Fasig-Tipton's Midlantic event. Looking to atone for the debut disappointment, Eden's Moon made a comfortable lead and was kept company by second choice Music Thunder (Distorted Humor) down the backside. She began to get away from that rival, had six lengths on the field entering the final furlong and, despite Martin Garcia dropping anchor a sixteenth out, won by 11 1/2 lengths at 1-5. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $42,600.
