Florida Fabulous captured her debut in a seemingly effortless performance Thursday, romping home by 10 lengths in wire-to-wire fashion to become the newest ‘TDN Rising Star’. Sent straight to the front, she was well-rated beneath Paco Lopez through fractions of :24.71 and :48.61 and had plenty left in the tank in the stretch, coasting home a much-the-best winner. The winner is a half-sister to a number of impressive E. Paul Robsham Stables colorbearers, including GII Swale S. winner Travelin Man (Trippi; GSW, $330,734), who captured his debut by 7 1/4 lengths with a 106 Beyer Speed Figure at Gulfstream in January 2011—as well as GII Gulfstream Park H. hero Discreet Dancer (Discreet Cat; GSW & GISP, $365,900), who also won at first asking with a 9 3/4-length score in December 2011. Sweet N Discreet (Discreet Cat; SW & GSP, $366,447)—who tallied a four-for-six career record in Hallandale—rounds out the trio of locally accomplished siblings. West Side Dancer produced a colt by Scat Daddy in 2015 and colt by More Than Ready in 2016 before being bred back to Liam’s Map. Florida Fabulous sold for $400,000 after working a quarter in :21 2/5 at last year’s OBS April sale. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $22,800.
