2st Dam: Katie Roche (Ire)
Owner: Normandie Stud Ltd
Breeder: Normandie Stud Ltd
Trainer: John Gosden
Sent off the 4-1 joint-second favorite in this intriguing maiden, the bay was positioned in sixth early under cover against the rail. Angled outside once the sprint was underway with a quarter mile to race, the homebred showed a sharp turn of acceleration to inhale Distain (GB) (Champs Elysees {GB}) at the furlong pole and surge to an impressive 1 1/2-length success, with a neck back to Pure Line (GB) (Zamindar) in third. Owner-breeder Philippa Cooper was on hand to witness the win and said, “I was quite surprised to see her run so well, as my horses are usually works in progress and William said this one has a real turn of foot and that a mile and a quarter is definitely her trip. I lost her mother two months ago in horrific circumstances and she was like one of my best friends, so it was very emotional tonight. We'll take it one day at a time, but maybe, off the top of my head, something like the Listed Ballymacoll Stud S. might suit her at Newbury next month.” The winner is a half-sister to Dalvina (GB) (Grand Lodge), GSW-US, SW & GSP-Eng, GSP-Ire, $212,993; and also to the dam of Sultanina (GB) (New Approach {Ire}), G1SW-Eng, $303,559. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £5,175
