Hot Seat sailed home by 13 1/2 lengths in his six-furlong debut at Parx Sept. 6 and was sent off the prohibitive 1-5 favorite to repeat the effort in this second go. He broke sharply and took the lead into the first turn, but ceded his position to longshot Late Breaking News (Jump Start) and settled just off that foe through an opening half in :46 3/5. Hot Seat reeled in the pacesetter turning for home and strode clear down the lane under a motionless Paco Lopez to best Late Breaking News by seven lengths. A $260,000 KEESEP yearling, Hot Seat is a half to Allwewantforxmas (Songandaprayer, MSP, $211,794); and to Hard Enough (Hard Spun, GSW, $351,145).(Racing manager Ben Glass on Hot Seat’s debut win).
