One of a trio of Aidan O'Brien trainees in a race used by the conditioner in recent times to launch Landseer (GB) (Danehill), Spartacus (Ire) (Danehill), Antonius Pius (Danzig) and Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo), Jackaroo was sent off the 7-2 second favorite. He broke smartly to grab the rail on this turning track and race behind stable companion Eskimo (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). Seizing a gap on the rail to lead approaching the eighth pole, the 230,000gns TATOCT yearling quickly asserted and stayed true as his barnmate took an errant path, remaining in total command en route to a two-length success. Oor Jock (Ire) (Shamardal), the son of Katdogawn (GB) (Bahhare), was the 3-1 favorite, but could never make an impression and filled fourth spot behind the Ballydoyle runners. “I liked him, his mother was a good horse and I used ride her out, so it was nice to get the spin,” winning jockey James Heffernan told Irish Racing online. “The penny has really dropped with him.” Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, €10,695.
