Mythical Border, a $145,000 KEENOV foal, a $150,000 FTKJUL yearling and a $500,000 OBSFEB juvenile, was let go at 5-1 for this opening performance and gave supporters little cause for concern with a noteworthy display which entitles her to point at the G2 Queen Mary S. at Royal Ascot June 18. Swiftly into stride to chase the front rank in fifth, she made smooth headway beyond rivals to lead approaching the final furlong. The chestnut accelerated clear soon after and, despite running green, was afforded the luxury of gearing down late to record an impressive four-length victory from Souter's Sister (Ire) (Desert Style {Ire}). Promising apprentice William Buick was in the saddle for the win and commented, “She impressed me with the way she did that as she was very green early on, but she quickened up nicely and did it in a fast time as well.” Confirming Royal Ascot was very much on the agenda, trainer Jeremy Noseda told Racing Post, “She was bought by John McCormack at the Ocala breeze-up specifically with Royal Ascot in mind and she's the owner's first runner in this country in his own colors. This was her first step, we'll take her home before we decide if she runs again ahead of the Queen Mary, but she's already very professional.” Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £3,562.
