1st Dam: Peace Talk (Fr)
2st Dam: Pampa Bella (Fr)
2st Dam: Kendie (Fr)
Owner: Jean-Pierre Dubois
Breeder: Jean-Pierre Dubois
Trainer: Jean-Claude Rouget
When trainer Jean-Claude Rouget transports an unbeaten contestant from his Pau yard in southwest France, punters usually take heed. The method proved profitable once more here as Peace Dream put her Classic credentials on the line and rewarded favorite backers with a demolition job in this Bois de Boulogne mud. Successful at Dax Aug. 26 and Mont-de-Marsan Oct. 8, she closed a juvenile campaign in the provinces with victory at Toulouse Nov. 15 and went postward for this metropolitan bow as the 9-10 favorite. Toying with the pace up front from the outset, the grey homebred was asked to lengthen once into the straight. She did so with relish, enjoyed isolation inside the final quarter mile and cruised to the line six lengths in advance of the slow-starting Modesty Blaise (A.P. Indy). “She's a real nice filly and I think she's one of the nicest I've got,” Rouget commented. “She is an easy ride and can do whatever she is asked to do, from the front or waiting in behind. She will probably head straight to the [May 13] G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches [at Longchamp].” Peace Dream's second dam is Pampa Bella (Fr), a Group 3 winner and third in the G1 Prix de Diane and G1 Prix Saint-Alary. Pampa Bella produced French highweighted older horse Pistolet Bleu (Ire) (Top Ville {Ire}) and Group 3 winner Palme d'Or (Ire) (Sadler's Wells). Lifetime Record: 4 starts, 4 wins, Eu42,500.
