Princess Arabella trained with great promise whereever it was she was stabled, first at Hollywood Park and for the last month at Santa Anita. She breezed six furlongs from the gate in a race-like 1:12 3/5 in her second local move Dec. 4 and tuned up for this debut with a best-of-55 five furlongs in :59 flat Dec. 26. Sent off at even-money for this debut, Princess Arabella broke in at the start and took a few strides to find her footing, spotting the field about a half-dozen lengths in the process. But, instead of rushing the filly off her feet to take up a forward position, jockey Martin Garcia allowed her to do things on her terms, and she crept into contention on the turn. Four deep at the quarter pole, she cruised to the front with a little more than a furlong to race and pulled away to take it by 3 1/2 lengths and galloped out well past her rivals. Hidinginplainsight (Elusive Quality) was second. The winner's dam is a full sister to Invisible Ink, who carried Peachtree purple to a runner-up effort in the GI Kentucky Derby in 2001. Princess Arabella is a half to Dyna's Lassie (Dynaformer), SW & MGSP, $182,825. Sales history: $47,000 RNA yrl '10 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $33,600.
