Well-touted prior to her bow on the Polytrack, Rainbow Promises was hammered down to 10-11. She showed the professionalism that has marked her homework to break smartly and race in second early. Frankie Dettori asked the 95,000gns TATAPR two-year-old to stride to the front with 2½ furlongs remaining and she quickly settled the issue with an impressive turn of acceleration. Pushed out in the closing stages, the dark bay required only hand riding to record a convincing five-length success from Laura's Best (Ire) (Green Desert), breaking the juvenile track record in the process. “Brian [Meehan] really liked her and said that she'd be doing some smart bits of work at home and he was right,” her rider commented. “To break the track record takes some doing, and she delivered straight away when I asked her to quicken.” Rainbow Promises becomes the fourth winner from the first crop of her sire (by Gone West). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £5,505.
