September (Ire) broke well to stalk the leading quartet against the rail before being angled off turning for home. Rushing to the front with a furlong remaining, the 9-2 joint-favourite surged clear to win by 5 1/2 lengths from Himmah (Ire) (Intikhab). “I think that’s the first one we’ve had that’s won first time out [this season],” jockey Seamie Heffernan said. “She’s bred to be okay and I’d say she’s okay as she gave me a good feeling. Ours can work really, really well at home and then on their first runs can disappoint, but that’s just the way they are. I’d say she has an engine all right.” The dam, whose 3-year-old colt from the same stable and by the same sire Winsconsin (Jpn) scored last month at Tipperary, is the four-times group 1 winner who lays reasonable claim to being the best of her sex to represent Aidan O’Brien prior to the arrival on the scene of Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). The G1 Irish Oaks heroine also produced the G2 Coventry S. third Sir John Hawkins (Henrythenavigator) and has a yearling colt by Australia (GB). The second dam Maryinsky (Ire) (Sadler’s Wells) finished second in the G1 Fillies’ Mile before throwing the G1 Criterium International-winning sire Thewayyouare, with her $1million once-raced winning 3-year-old filly Crimson Rock (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) an exciting prospect. This is the family of the GI Kentucky Oaks heroine Blush with Pride (Blushing Groom {Fr}), whose descendants include Better than Honour (Deputy Minister) and her Rags To Riches (A.P. Indy), Casino Drive and Jazil. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, €10,780.
