2st Dam:

Street Sense became the fifth winner for his freshman sire (by Machiavellian) with a handy score. The Tafel homebred, from the family of Mr. Greeley, debuted with an excellent runner-up finish to a hot favorite in Unbridled Express at Churchill Downs July 9 and was the 7-10 chalk to go one better. Racing well in hand beneath Calvin Borel, the dark bay bid for the lead from between horses leaving the eighth pole and edged away to score by a deceptive 1 1/4-length margin. Izzie's Halo (Jolie's Halo) bested Piratesonthelake (Lake Austin) for second, with the duo 13 lengths clear of the fourth. The final time was three ticks faster than that of the second-level allowance one race earlier. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $26,200.
