Teen Pauline stamped herself as one to keep a very close eye on this summer after lowering the five-furlong track record at the Spa. Backed as the 2-1 second choice, the Stonestreet homebred forced the early issue on the outside through an opening quarter in :21.82, took over when ready, and impressively opened daylight in the stretch to win by a geared-down 4 3/4 lengths, stopping the timer in a sparkling :56.53, just .01 of a second quicker than the ill-fated J C's Pride (Henny Hughes)'s mark established at the 2011 meeting. Fellow firster My Happy Face (Tiz Wonderful) was second, 10 1/2 lengths ahead of Gadget Girl (More Than Ready). The winner's graded-stakes winning dam Effectual (Carson City) was purchased by Stonestreet with this filly in utero for $475,000 at the 2009 Keeneland November Sale. Teen Pauline becomes the second J “TDN Rising Star” J for Stonestreet at the meeting fresh off the heels of Kauai Katie (Malibu Moon) brilliant performance for the Todd Pletcher barn on opening day. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $48,000.
