Ten Blessings, produced by the Earnhardts brilliant two-time champion and five-time GISW Indian Blessing, became a ‘TDN Rising Star’ with a very promising debut win at Santa Anita in the nightcap. Nominated to the Triple Crown, the bay didn’t tip his hand much in the a.m., completing his preparations with a six-furlong breeze in 1:13 3/5 (2/11) in Arcadia Jan. 29. Off as the second choice at odds of 3-1, Ten Blessings was outsprinted early in eighth through a hot opening quarter in :21.72. He began to advance entering the far turn and subsequently launched an eye-catching four-wide bid off the bend. With Rafael Bejarano aboard, Ten Blessings kept on rolling down the lane and leveled off nicely to win going away by 2 1/4 lengths. Mucho Chrome (Macho Uno) was second. Indian Blessing, a half-sister to GSW Roman Threat (Roman Ruler), has a 2-year-old filly by Tapit named Life’s Blessings; a yearling colt by Misremembered; and was bred back to Pioneerof the Nile. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $33,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or the free Equineline.com catalogue-style pedigree. VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
