Unknown Road was a debut runner-up behind Coup de Grace (Tapit)–who won an optional claimer at Gulfstream Park Dec. 15–at the Big A for trainer Michael Hushion Nov. 9. Making his first start under the care of Al Stall, Jr., the 8-5 pick moved up the rail shortly after the break to set the early pace through splits of :22.20 and :46.49. He was pressured on the turn, but re-rerallied professionally, opening up down the lane to win by 11 3/4 lengths. Glacken Too (Smoke Glacken) completed the exacta. Unknown Road RNA'd for $335,000 as a yearling at Keeneland September. Champion 3-year-old filly and five-time Grade I stakes winner Banshee Breeze (Unbridled) was the first foal out of the graded stakes placed dam Banshee Winds. Her next foal, Unbridled Wind (Unbridled) was also a stakes winner. In 2003, Banshee Winds sold to ClassicStar for $2.4 million at the Keeneland November sale. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $38,000.
