Kevin Hickman’s four-time Group 1-winning mare Silent Achiever (NZ) (O’Reilly {NZ}–Winning Spree {NZ}, by Zabeel {NZ}) has been retired from racing and will ship to Europe to be covered Southern Hemisphere time later this year, according to Racing and Sports. The 6-year-old mare was earlier this year reportedly being prepared for a tilt at the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, but the dark bay had finished off the board in all six starts thus far in 2015, including a 10th of 15 in Saturday’s G1 Doomben Cup.
Silent Achiever’s finest moments came this time last year when she won three straight Group 1s for trainer Roger James. She took the G1 New Zealand S. before crossing the Tasman to annex the G1 Ranvet S. and G1 The BMW. She retires with 10 wins from 36 starts and earnings of more than A$3.6 million.
