Solo Work No Problem for Nemoralia
Terry Allan, James Lovat and Charles Pigram’s Nemoralia (More Than Ready) worked a half-mile over Keeneland’s good turf course Sunday in :51.60 (video).
“We were supposed to have a lead horse, but they went earlier,” Kerri Radcliffe, who was aboard for the work, admitted. “She never has worked on her own. This was the first time.”
Trained by Jeremy Noseda, Nemoralia produced a first quarter-mile in :27.60, and she galloped out five furlongs in 1:06.20.
“The ground was heavy, but she just glided over it,” Radcliffe added.
A maiden winner over the all-weather at Kempton in August, Nemoralia was second behind Nickname (Scat Daddy) while making her first start on dirt in the Oct. 3 GI Frizette S. She was pre-entered in both the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and GI Juvenile Fillies Turf, but is expected to race in the turf contest.
