? It would have been fitting if, one day after they took home Eclipse Awards for leading owner and breeder, Ken and Sarah Ramsey would annex the race named for their superstar sire with Grade I-winning colorbearer We Miss Artie. But Santa Rosa Racing Stables’s streaking Storming Inti–trained by one of the Ramseys’ go-to conditioners in Chad Brown–had other ideas. Co-favored off wins in Belmont’s grassy Awad S. in October and the rained-off Pulpit S. here Nov. 30, Storming Inti seized command into the first turn as We Miss Artie took up an advantageous pocket position. The latter came off the rail to confront Storming Inti at the head of the lane, and the stage was set. We Miss Artie put a head in front in midstretch, but Storming Inti clawed his way back to get his nose down in a photo that could have gone either way. Fittingly, Cabo Cat rounded out the trifecta. Storming Inti hails from the female family of successful sires Sky Mesa (Pulpit) and Wiseman’s Ferry (Hennessy). Click for the brisnet.com chart or VIDEO.
