Tattersalls Mare Catalogue Online

The catalogue for Tattersalls’ December Mare Sale, which runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at the Park Paddocks in Newmarket, is now online. The 1,113 broodmares and fillies in/out of training include five Classic or Group 1 winners and seven dams of Group 1 winners, and two Group/Grade 1-producing mares in foal to Dubawi (Ire). Those two mares are Ever Rigg (GB) (Dubai Destination) (lot 2015), the dam of this year’s G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S. victor Postponed (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) who is therefore carrying a full-sibling to that star; and Time Control (GB) (Sadler’s Wells), (lot 1986) the dam of last year’s G1 Moyglare Stud S. winner Cursory Glance (Distorted Humor). There are four others catalogued in foal to Dubawi: Grade/Group 1 winners Ambivalent (Ire) (Authorized {Ire}) (lot 2025) and Icon Project (Empire Maker) (lot 1977); Group 2 producer Kelly Nicole (Ire) (Rainbow Quest) (lot 1945) and the regally bred Hanky Panky (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) (lot 2011), from the family of Gleneagles (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

Recent racetrack stars catalogued include this year’s G1 Investec Oaks winner Qualify (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) (lot 1987) and last year’s European champion juvenile filly Tiggy Wiggy (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) (lot 2019), as well as Ribbons (GB) (Manduro {Ger}) (lot 1985) and Odeliz (Ire) (Falco) (lot 2017), the last two winners of the G1 Prix Jean Romanet. Other Group 1 producers catalogued include top-level winner and producer Ana Luna (GB) (Dream Well {Fr}) (lot 1997), in foal to Oasis Dream (GB); Arum Lily (Woodman) (lot 1611), in foal to Nathaniel (Ire); and Night Visit (GB) (Sinndar {Ire}) (lot 1694), carrying to Dawn Approach (Ire).

It is very rare for an Oaks winner to be offered for sale in her Classic winning year, and Qualify looks set to create enormous interest, but it is the strength in depth of the Tattersalls December Sale which sets it apart,” said Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony. “In addition to the Oaks winner Qualify, the catalogue has a huge number of well-bred, well-covered mares, more than 130 group and listed winners/producers and an abundance of group and listed-winning fillies in and out of training.”
