Terravista to Spell, HK Off the Table

Terravista (Aus) (Captain Rio {GB}), who captured the G1 Darley Classic at Flemington in 2014 and excited this year’s edition with a third-place effort Nov. 7, will be sent for a spell, instead of competing in the G1 Hong Kong International Sprint Dec. 13, reported racenet.com.au. Trainer Joe Pride will give Terravista a break, with the long-term target the G1 Black Caviar Lightning S. at Flemington in February.

“When he came back from Melbourne, I just thought it would have been a bit of a stretch to give him another run,” Pride told racenet.com.au. “It’s a great race and hopefully he can go over there next year. I’ve had one there before and it was a fantastic trip, but it was just not the right time for him this preparation. There’s a good chance he’ll resume in the Lightning, he loves the straight, so I’m very keen to get him back down there.”
