Al Shaqab Racing's supermare Treve (Fr) (Motivator {GB}) has returned from her holiday at Haras du Quesnay and resumed training at Criquette Head-Maarek's stable in Chantilly. The 5-year-old was out on Les Aigles on Thursday morning for the first time since October under regular rider Maurine Beusnel and in front of many cameras. Head-Maarek commented: “She was turned out for three months, which did her a lot of good. She's taller and bigger than last year, she really looks fantastic.” The conditioner added, “This morning she'll just go for a trot so I can see how she moves and behaves, then we'll gradually get her back into our normal routine. You know, when horses are turned out, they do gallop, and particularly her, she was really enjoying it. It's not as if she'd been on box rest, she can go back into steady work.”
Head-Maarek earmarked the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, June 28, as the target for the dual Arc heroine's seasonal return, followed by the G1 Prix Vermeille as a build-up to the mare's bid for a third Arc triumph.
