Treve (Fr)

By Andrew Caulfield

When an unbeaten filly slices two seconds off the race record in winning a Classic, you have to think that she could develop into racing royalty. That, of course, is exactly what the unexposed Treve did in the Prix de Diane two days ago, and a glance at herfemale line quickly establishes that she has every right to develop into a queen of the turf. Treve’s fourth dam Trillion contested the Prix de Diane some 36 years earlier. Like Treve, Trillion arrived at the Chantilly classic unbeaten in two starts and she too ran really well, rallying so bravely that she failed by only a head to pass the faltering Madelia.
