Aquis Farm in Queensland has announced their acquisition of the high class Kiss And Make Up (Aus) (More Than Ready) in a deal brokered by Julian Blaxland of Blue Sky Bloodstock. The colt injured a knee and has been retired from racing to take up stallion duties at Aquis in 2017. Bred by Strawberry Hill Stud out of the dual Group 1 winner Fashions Afield (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}), Kiss And Make Up was purchased as a yearling by his trainer Gai Waterhouse and made an immediate impact on the track. He broke his maiden on debut at Canterbury Park before inflicting defeat on the brilliant 'TDN Rising Star' Capitalist (Aus) (Written tycoon {Aus}) in the G2 Todman S. at Randwick in March. He then finished in rear in the G1 Longines Golden Slipper on what was to be his final start. Paying tribute to the horse Gai Waterhouse said, “Kiss And Make Up in his short career showed such brilliance in speed. He has the perfect colt's temperament, he is good-natured, intelligent, easy to work with and has a wonderfully competitive spirit. I wish Aquis every success and I look forward to purchasing his progeny.” Justin Fung, whose Hong Kong based father Tony owns Aquis Farm commented, “My father and our family are totally committed to establishing Aquis Farm as one of Australia's leading stallion farms and we think we are demonstrating that in securing for 2017 and beyond the third highest rated 2-year-old of his generation.”
