Baciata To Tackle Irish Classic
Bocca Baciata (Ire) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}) remains firmly on course for the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh May 24. The Flaxman Stables Ireland-owned filly has been pleasing trainer Jessica Harrington since her successful seasonal debut in the Listed EBF Salsabil S. at Navan Apr. 18, form that looks even stronger retrospectively. “She’s come out of her race at Navan very well. I’m very happy with her and she’s on course for the Irish 1000 Guineas,” reported Harrington. Bocca Baciata’s immediate victims at Navan were Pleascach (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) and Diamondsandrubies (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). Both fillies are subsequent wide-margin stakes winners with Diamondsandrubies claiming the Listed Cheshire Oaks by six lengths and Pleascach trouncing her opponents in the G3 Blue Wind Fillies S. at Naas by eight lengths. Both fillies are more likely to go up in trip and tackle the G1 Oaks at Epsom while Bocca Baciata will come back a quarter mile in trip for the Curragh Classic, something her trainer believes will not be an issue. “She would not have any problem with a mile. She´s not a slow filly at all,” reported Jessica Harrington after her victory at Navan.
