Godolphin Award To Hogg

Gemma Hogg, assistant to trainer Micky Hammond, received the top honour at the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards in London Monday night when named Employee of the Year. Hogg received a trophy and a cheque for £40,000, half of which will be shared amongst Hammond's staff. Hogg also received the Leadership Award, and was commended particularly for her work re-homing retired racehorses.

The other award winners were: Alyson Deniel, who works for Richard Fahey, received the Rider/Groom award; Laura Winstanley, who works for Sir Michael Stoute, received the David Nicholson Newcomer Prize; Stuart Thom of Lofts Hall Stud won the Stud Staff award; Claire Goodenough, who works for William Haggas, won the Dedication to Racing award; Lisa Delany from the Jockeys Employment Training Scheme won the inaugural Rory MacDonald Community Award; and Joanna Mason won the Special Recognition Award for the re-training of the horse Liverpool.
