A field of just five sophomore fillies light on experience, but high on promise line up in Lexington Sunday for the GIII Adena Springs Beaumont S. Cheyenne Stables' Kinsley Kisses (Congrats) opened her account with a clear-cut victory over eventual GII Gulfstream Park Oaks runner-up Paola Queen (Flatter) in Hallandale Jan. 16, and completely dominated an allowance group she clearly out-classed at Tampa Mar. 13. Lightstream (Harlan's Holiday), meanwhile, rallied resolutely to don cap and gown first out at Gulfstream Mar. 6 for trainer Brian Lynch and Leonard Zenith of Up Hill Stable. The bay earned a 103 Beyer Speed Figure for that effort, which is tied with Exaggerator (Curlin)'s GI Santa Anita Derby victory for the highest number a sophomore of either sex has received this year. Sol Kumin's Head of Plains Partners acquired an interest in Lightstream after her debut. Nickname (Scat Daddy) took Belmont's GI Frizette S. at a sloppy, one-turn mile last October, but settled for a well-beaten fourth in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies here later that month. She was second at odds-on in both Oaklawn's Martha Washington S. Feb. 6 and GIII Honeybee S. Mar. 12. The $350,000 KEESEP yearling's last sprint attempt was a maiden-breaking win at the Spa last September. R Girls a Charmer (In Summation) broke her maiden impressively second out at Gulfstream Jan. 2 for trainer Alfred McIntosh, and was subsequently acquired by Gary Barber and turned over to Mark Casse. The chestnut immediately rewarded that investment with a four-length score going a similar trip to this in Tampa's Jan. 23 Gasparilla S., but was fourth behind 'TDN Rising Star' Cathryn Sophia (Street Boss) after attending the pace in the one-mile GII Davona Dale S. back at Gulfstream Feb. 27.
