Thank you for the great article on TDN regarding Frank Stronach (click here). I live near San Francisco and Golden Gate Fields is my home track. Okay, it is old, but it is also historical. I believe that if something is clean, operational (everything physically works) the staff is good (which they are and love and need their jobs), age does not matter. In fact, it makes it much better, nostalgic and memory invoking. I think if Mr. Stronach would authorize his staff there to fix up the place a bit more, get someone interested in horse racing to advertise, return the practice of member coupons for free parking, etc., it would bring in new fans and get those already hooked on horseracing to bring their friends. Golden Gate Fields is truly beautiful, standing at the front door of the Clubhouse entrance you are greeted by a fantastic view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city of San Francisco and surrounding hills. I and the other fans and employees are immensely grateful to Mr. Stronach for keeping the track open when it's probably losing money. I know GGF could be made great again. I totally agree with another idea of his to have a track veterinarian and its own pharmacy to cut down or hopefully eliminate drugs on race day as well as monitoring the general medical treatment of the horses there. Thanks again for the positive article on Mr. Stronach. He calls it like he sees it; not everyone has the guts to do that.
