Paulassilverlining (Ghostzapper) has proven a consummate professional, winning nine of 19 career starts and hitting the board in seven others. Victorious in last spring's GIII Distaff H. at Aqueduct and Belmont's GIII Vagrancy H. for trainer Michelle Nevin, the bay later added wins in the Oct. 1 GII Gallant Bloom H. at Belmont and the Garland of Roses S. on Aqueduct's inner track Dec. 10. Turned over to 2016 Eclipse Award winning trainer Chad Brown for her 2017 debut, the five-year-old got up in the final jump to win the seven-furlong Madison S. at Keeneland Apr. 8. Finest City (City Zip), winner of last spring's GII Great Lady M S. at Los Alamitos, showed a steady progression throughout the summer and fall. Third in the one-mile GI Vanity S. at Santa Anita in June, she was fourth while moving to the turf for the 8 1/2-furlong GII Yellow Ribbon H. July 16. Beaten only a head when reuniting with the Del Mar sod for the GII John C. Mabee Sept. 4, the chestnut relished her return to the dirt and the cut back in trip to take the GI Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita Nov. 5. Back in the winner's circle in her seasonal debut in the GII Santa Monica S. Jan. 21, she proved second best to Val Dori (Arg) (Asiatic Boy {Arg}) while stretching back out to nine furlongs for the GI Santa Margarita Mar. 18, but gets back to her preferred distance this time. Lightstream (Harlan's Holiday) kicked off her career last spring with three consecutive victories, including Keeneland's GIII Beaumont S. in addition to the grassy Soaring Softly S. at Belmont. A solid third in the 8 1/2-furlong GI Mother Goose S. at Belmont followed by a second in the GI Test S. going seven eighths at the Spa, the Brian Lynch trainee came from off the pace to win Keeneland's GII Raven Run S. over seven panels Oct. 22 before rounding out the year with a fifth in the Dec. 26 GI La Brea S. at Santa Anita. Grade I winner Carina Mia (Malibu Moon) showed plenty of talent early with wins in the GII Golden Rod S. at two and the seven-furlong GII Eight Belles S. as a sophmore. Recording her biggest score to date in the summer's one-mile GI Acorn S. last June, the Three Chimneys runner has been winless in her last four–all in Grade I company–but did hit the board in three of those, including a runner-up effort in the Sept. 24 Cotillion S. at Parx. She attempts to turn things around after finishing ninth in her career worst effort as the 3-1 choice in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita Nov. 5.
