Raven Run Winner Joins Callaghan Barn

TDN Rising Star Taris (f, 3, Flatter) flaunted her considerable speed in thrashing her rivals by some nine lengths in the GII Lexus Raven Run S. at Keeneland Oct. 18 and found herself and was a late addition to the Fasig-Tipton November Sale to try to capitalize on her outstanding racetrack performance. Consigned by Darby Dan Farm, agent, as the second-last hip through the ring, the filly, previously raced by Commonwealth New Era Racing and trained by trainer Todd Beattie, who also owned a piece of her, was hammered down to Southern California-based conditioner Simon Callaghan for $2.35 million. A Rising Star off a rousing debut win at Aqueduct last December, Taris won the Wide Country S. in her stakes debut in her next start and returned from a six-month absence with a rousing allowance win at Presque Isle Downs ahead of her Keeneland success.
