Nine extra colts have been given an entry at the second nomination stage for the £1.325-million G1 Investec Derby Saturday, June 4.

The Epsom Classic has now attracted 141 entries, including a potential first starter in the race for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, whose homebred Carntop (GB) (Dansili {GB}) won a Newmarket maiden last October for trainer Ralph Beckett.

Godolphin has added a duo from Saeed Bin Suroor's stable in Brave Hero (GB), a first-crop son of Poet's Voice (GB) who broke the juvenile track record when winning his sole start at Lingfield last November, and Prize Money (GB), another first-time-out winner by the 2007 Derby winner Authorized (Ire).

Al Shaqab Racing's G2 Vintage S. winner Galileo Gold (GB) (Paco Boy {Ire}) joins the potential line-up along with the Aga Khan's homebred Vedevani (Fr) (Dubawi {Ire}), while Mick Channon will attempt to emulate dual Derby-winning trainer Arthur Budgett as the owner, breeder and trainer of Harrison (GB), a son of the well credentialed St Leger winner Sixties Icon (GB), whose sire Galileo (Ire) won the Derby and dam Love Divine (GB) won the Oaks.

Rookie trainers Michael O'Callaghan and Owen Burrows will each be hoping for a first Derby runner with O'Callaghan's Blue De Vega (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) having been entered along with the Burrows-trained Shadwell homebred Mustajeer (GB) (Medicean {GB}). Completing the list of second-stage entries is Stellar Mass (Ire), a son of the 2009 Derby winner Sea The Stars (Ire) who is trained by Jim Bolger for owner June Judd.

Aidan O'Brien's recent Curragh maiden scorer US Army Ranger (Ire) is currently favourite to give his sire Galileo a fourth winner of the Investec Derby following New Approach (Ire) (2008), Ruler Of The World (Ire) (2013) and Australia (GB) (2014).
