TDN's Steve Sherack and Brian DiDonato will give their best bet of the day for every Friday, Saturday and Sunday card of the Saratoga meet, and bet $50 Win/Place on their selection. In the case of a scratch, an alternate pick will be posted on twitter. The handicapper who has accrued the biggest bankroll through Sept. 3 wins.

SS: Friday's Result Ever So Clever couldn't have been more disappointing. You know you're going bad when you can't even get a 9-5 shot to hit the board.Total: $890.

Saturday, Race 7, MswTeletap, a son of leading sire Tapit, has about as good of a win-early pedigree as it gets. His dam Wild Vision, a fellow Winchell homebred, only made one career start, but won for fun in her debut at the Fair Grounds in December of her 2-year-old season. She has since passed on that precocity to her offspring in spades. Pyro (Pulpit) is one of her four debut winners, two as juveniles. Pyro, second in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile and GI Champagne S., later annexed Saratoga's GI Forego S. as a 4-year-old. Three other of Wild Vision's offspring won second out at two, respectively. Teletap boasts a sharp five-furlong move in :59 3/5 (3/24) at the Spa Aug. 3 and Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen certainly knows how to get them ready to win early. Attracting Irad Ortiz Jr. to ride can't exactly be a bad thing, either. Selection: #7 Teletap (4-1).

BD: Friday's Result – I really, really, really liked Lakeside Sunset, and I was really, really, really wrong. She had to work a little hard to get position from the rail, but had nothing left in the stretch. Total: $1350.

Saturday, Race 2, Msw – Ron Moquett has been struggling a bit at the meet so far, and Pletcher trainee Driven to Complete figures to take some beating, but I've had my eye on Rockshaw the two times this meet he's failed to draw in and now he's finally going to make his debut. The powerful-looking chestnut was just a $35,000 KEESEP yearling, but blossomed into a $210,000 OBS April juvenile after covering a quarter in :20 3/5, which was that day's bullet. He took a while to switch leads and may have been spinning his wheels a bit over the synthetic track, but he really finished up well and hinted at some serious ability. The Maclean's Musics have come out running in their debuts, and Rockshaw's dam was a first-up winner in April of her juvenile season and a stakes winner that year as well. A half-brother was second in his first three starts at two, including a stakes race in Western Canada. Rockshaw's works since he shipped to Saratoga have been downright glacial, but he was breezing quickly down at Churchill before that, so hopefully these have just been maintenance moves and he's fit and ready to roll. Selection: #10 Rockshaw (20-1).

Tune in each race day from 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. for Saratoga Live, available on Fox Sports 2 (channel finder), MSG+ (channel finder) and Altitude (channel finder).
