Further to a report in Monday's TDN about the BHA's Chief Regulatory Officer Jamie Stier returning to Australia, it has been confirmed Stier will be taking up a position with Racing Victoria as executive general manager of Integrity Services. “I am hugely excited to be working with Racing Victoria and look forward to building on, and enhancing, the integrity structures which are already in place to help ensure the sustainability of racing in Victoria,” Stier told Racing.com on Monday. “Integrity is fundamental to the success of racing from the point of view of both the participants and the fans. With the support of the experienced team involved across the integrity function in Victoria, the focus will be on meeting the future challenges to integrity in racing to provide the public with confidence in our sport,” he added. Stier began his career in his native Australia and in addition to eight years working for the BHA he has also gained experience in Hong Kong where he worked for 11 years including as chief stipendiary steward for the HKJC. Racing Victoria's chief executive Giles Thomson is looking forward to Stier commencing his role in 2018, though the date has yet to be confirmed. “Jamie is a highly-accomplished executive who has forged a lifelong career within the thoroughbred racing industry and has gained an international reputation as a leading integrity officer,” Thompson said.
