Two New “Hoofprints Walk Of Fame” Inductees at Saratoga

Saratoga | Sarah Andrew

The Hoofprints Walk of Fame at Saratoga, modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame, will have two new plaques this year for horses Sun Briar and Molly Brant, the Saratoga 150 Committee announced Monday.

Owned by W.S. Kilmer and trained by Henry McDaniel, Sun Briar won the Hopeful S., Saratoga Special S. and Grand Union S. as a 2-year-old in 1917 and annexed the Travers S. as a sophomore. Molly Brant, owned by Sanford Stud and trained by H.H. Hyner and W. Hayward, captured the Adirondack S. at Saratoga in 1902 and the Saranac S. the following year.

“We are delighted to welcome these two worthy new additions to the outstanding class of Thoroughbreds who make up the Hoofprints Walk of Fame, which honors the real stars of sports while providing a unique and educational retrospective of our history,” said Saratoga 150 Honorary Chair John Hendrickson.

The Hoofprints Walk of Fame is located outside the clubhouse gates at Saratoga and now has 38 total inductees.
