In an effort to consolidate its operations at one of its two locations, Kentucky's Walmac Farm will put its 248-acre Paris Pike property, which it has operated since 1976, on the market. Currently, Walmac is operating a 625-acre Elizabeth Station Road property (located on the Fayette/Bourbon County line), which is a fully developed breeding facility where Walmac began operations in 1987. Upon the sale of the Paris Pike location, John T.L. Jones III, managing director, said all operations will move to the larger acreage property. The Paris Pike property has been the home of numerous high-profile stallions since its founding by John T.L. Jones Jr., including Nureyev, Miswaki, Alleged, Lord At War, Shecky Greene, Salt Lake, Successful Appeal, Songandaprayer, and Phone Trick amongst others, and stood over 100 different stallions over the last 40 years. The Paris Pike property was part of a larger property once owned by Ben Ali Haggin which encompassed the modern day Spendthrift, Gainesway, Elmendorf, and Walmac Farms and where Haggin began raising Thoroughbreds in 1897. Justice Real Estate has been selected by Walmac to market the farm.
