Last season's G1 Sires' Produce S. winner Yankee Rose (Aus) (All American {Aus}), who had come under an injury cloud after putting in a below-par gallop on Tuesday, has escaped serious injury and will press on for a spring campaign, trainer David Vandyke told Racing.com. The 3-year-old filly had swelling in her near foreleg after the gallop, but after a veterinary examination Vandyke described the injury as a “sprained joint.”
“Thankfully the scans and the x-rays have revealed no underlying issues, there is nothing sinister,” the trainer told Racing.com. “We still need to see the inflammation reduce but at this stage it is still the intention to trial next Tuesday.”
Yankee Rose is scheduled to run first-up in the G1 Golden Rose S. Sept. 10. She had been favourite for that A$1-million contest but has slipped in the betting the last few days.
